Singer Britney Spears’s niece Maddie Aldridge has been released from a hospital in New Orleans less than a week after she was admitted following an ATV accident.
The family has not provided any update on Jamie Lynn Spears’s eight-year-old daughter’s injuries or expected recovery time.
But in an Instagram image posted on Friday featuring a shot of a medical transport chopper, Jamie Lynn’s husband Jamie Watson wrote: “Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA. We are headed home with our baby girl as she continued to recover.”
Watson, Maddie’s stepfather, did not provide any additional details about what’s next for her. She is seen in the photo smiling from inside the helicopter next to her mother, who also has a smile on her face, reports billboard.com.
“Maddie Aldridge, 8-year-old daughter of entertainer Jamie Lynn Spears, has been discharged from Children’s Hospital in New Orleans,” the hospital said in a statement via a Spears family representative.
“She is breathing well and interacting with loved ones. Doctors say she is on the way to a full recovery.”
The statement reported that Maddie accidentally drove the ATV into a pond on a relative’s property in Kentwood, Louisiana, and was trapped underwater as a result.
Britney also gave thanks for the good news, tweeting, “It’s truly a miracle.”
