Raid Is Heroic Yet Real – Ajay Devgn

Superstar Ajay Devgn was spotted at the trailer launch of his upcoming movie Raid. During his media interaction, Ajay expressed that his upcoming action drama is heroic but real.

Ajay Devgn has been setting benchmarks with his roles, such as Singham and Drishyam, talking about Raid would be such a benchmark role, he said, “I don’t know about benchmark or perception this movie might create, but the real struggle with the film was, the character is very heroic but real at the same time. We tried to keep it real, even with the punch lines; we tried to keep it real. It doesn’t feel you’re watching a movie. Challenge was to follow the character as realistically as possible”
The movie is based on 80’s era, where income tax officers are conducting a raid, which goes wrong, when they are attacked by mob and politician goons. Talking about his role and the ear, Ajay said it was the most brutal time.
“Especially during 80’s era, when the environment wasn’t good, it was not easy. I am sure Ritesh and Raj can tell you incidents when income tax officers were brutally murdered. They use to go through very hard time” said Ajay.
Ajay also spoke about getting guidance from makers on role portrayal, as they interacted with real income tax officers.
“Makers interacted with tax-officers, I understood from my director about the role. It is a true story; it is a real character, so we just knew what the officers felt at that point of time. We tried to keep it as real as possible” add Ajay.
As the movie is based on Income Tax, sharing some tips for fans on paying their taxes, Ajay said, “I am sure people will cuss me later for saying this, but the film is right on the point, where it says that you should be fair about tax. If you earn than pay the tax. Sometimes the fault lies on both the sides, tax payer and government, but both should be fair about it”
Raid is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Ileana Dcruz and Saurabh Shukla in lead roles. The movie is based on real life incident of longest raid in history.
The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on 16 March 2018.
