Actor Upen Patel who has worked in films like Namastey London, Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani and 36 China Town is gearing for the release of his next film Ek Hassena Thi Ek Deewana Tha after long gap in Hindi Cinema. In an exclusive interview he talked about his upcoming film Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha and he stated that he is the parwana (giver) in the film.
Talking about his character in the film, he said, “My character name in the film is Sunny who thinks from his heart instead of mind and he always thinks about other people and in that journey he makes sacrifices in his life. In this film Shiv is playing Deewana who will go to any extent to get his love and Natasha is playing haseena and I am the parwana of (Giver) of the film who sacrifice his love. The kind of emotional graph my character goes through in this film is the first time audience is going to experience this after long time in theatres. I hope Audience will relate with my character in the film”
Talking about the film, Upen said, “It’s a romantic musical mystery film. I am very excited for the film because after long time, audience is going to see commercial masala film which has romance, action, music and mystery involved in it. I feel lucky that through this film I got an opportunity to work with Suneel Darshan who has directed biggest stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar”
He also spoke about why he takes continuous break in acting, he said, “I don’t take these gaps consciously. Last year I worked in south Indian film ‘I’ with filmmaker Shankar with Vikram and Amy Jackson which did well at the box office. Apart from that, I did some Television shows. I have been conscious about choosing the films and that is reason there are gaps in my films. I don’t do movies just to earn money from it my main focus is always is to entertain the audience.”
Upen Patel is regular feature on reality show, talking about doing reality shows, he said, “Doing reality shows has been a great experience for me. The people who work for television are really hardworking and I have learnt a lot while doing television. In Nach Baliye, I got the opportunity to showcase my dancing abilities and in Big Boss, I got paid very well. Reality shows mostly last for 6-8 weeks so while choosing scripts for films actor can also remain in audience memory”
Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana is directed by Sunnel Darshan and it stars Upen Patel, Natasha Fernandes, Shiv Darshan in lead roles.
It is releasing on 30 June 2017.
