Varun Dhawan, David Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Taapsee Pannu attended trailer launch of their upcoming film Judwaa 2 on Monday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Varun stated that he wants people to have expectations from him.
Varun Dhawan has been enjoying exceptional run at box-office since his debut film which nearly no other actor has been able to achieve in their career. Varun Dhawan is often compared with Salman Khan for having amazing connect with audience with his massy films, when asked Varun is there any kind of pressure on him to fulfill audience expectations, he said, “There is always pressure and expectations that audience should like my film but the good thing is I want people to have expectation from my films if there wasn’t any kind of expectation from them it would have get difficult for me. When my film gets released, audience expects some good things from me. I am working here for the audience that’s the reason I am here and the day that passion goes away I won’t be here”
Few day back, Varun, Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan made fun of Kangana Ranaut over nepotism debate in IIFA 2017 but that didn’t gone well with the audience and Kangana Ranaut and later Varun issued apology on his social media handle. Since then, this was the first time Varun interacted with media, so when asked Varun about whole controversy, Varun said, “Whatever I had to say on that topic, I have already said it and obviously it’s the end of topic where this is concerned. Eventually, we are one fraternity, our job is to entertain the people and not hurt anyone’s sentiment. If I did that, I express my apologies to one and all. I am an entertainer and artist and I have only love in my heart when I come out there”
Talking about preparation of double role for the movie, Varun said, “This film is about identical twins and there is lots comedy of errors involved in it. For that, my father told me to watch Gulzaar saab’s Angoor and that’s been a big inspiration for me. I feel Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma work in that film has been amazing. I even saw Sridevi’s Chaalbaz. Anupam sir who is acting in this film was very instrumental because he has acted in so many double role films like Judwaa and Chaalbaaz.”
The film, directed by David Dhawan, is a sequel to 1997 film Judwaa, starring Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor.
It is releasing on 29 September, 2017.
