Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and composer Mithoon launched lyricist Sayeed Quadri’s book ‘Awarapan’ on Monday in Mumbai. During media interaction, Mithoon said that he would to see a film being made of the life of Sayeed Quadri.
When asked Mithhon whether a film should be made on life of Sayeed Quadri, Mithoon said, ‘Definitely.. It should be made. I think a biopic is being made on Sahir Ludhainvi saab because I think he was a great lyricist so I think films should be made on each person who contributed to so much to the industry. He has very unique and eventful journey as a lyricist and I think people should get inspired from it. In fact, I would love to see a film being made on Sayeed Quadri and Bhatt (Mahesh Bhatt) saab.
Talking about his long association with Sayeed Quadri , Mahesh Bhatt said, “I came here for my friend Sayeed Quadri’s book launch. It reminded me our beautiful memories with each other. We celebrated our long association together. Today Mithoon has surprised me by speaking fluent Hindi which I earlier I haven’t expected. I think good songs are made when lyrics writer and music composer has connection like body and the soul so because of this combination, they both have delivered so many hit songs. I think in years to come when people will talk about Hindi cinema especially music, then that talk will be incomplete if people will take name of Sayeed Quadri in that discussion”
Talking about his association with Sayeed Quadri, Mithoon said, “Firstly, I feel proud to talk about Sayeed Quadri. I think there are some writers who don’t write only songs but they make those films and make actors and music composers who are working in it and I think Sayeed Quadri saab falls into that bracket. He has huge contribution in the success of films, actor and my career as a music composer”
Sayeed Quadri has written lyrics for films like Jism, Saaya, Murder, Murder 2, Zeher, Kalyug, Barfi, Bhool Bhulaiya, Raaz – The Mystery Continues.
