Prashant Chawla is a Chartered Accountant. Since childhood he wanted to pursue acting but his family business was always finance. Finally after working in Ernst & Young as a CA, Prashant took off to pursue his career in acting.
He started off as a model in Delhi and got selected as a finalist in the Grasim Mr. India 2004 contest where he won the title of Best Smile award. A year later he completed his acting course with NSD Professor Rita Ganguly through Sahara group and finally shifted base to Mumbai.

Prashant has done around 50 ads. He has been the face of many ad campaigns. He has done print ads for Economic Times, Sony, Amway, Touchtel, LG and many more. As for commercial ads, Prashant has been a part of Airtel, Creambell Icecreams, ING Vyasa, ABN Amro Bank, Horlicks, CNBC, Parachute, Timesjob.com amongst others.

Prashant also made his foray into the Indian television industry by playing lead roles in of some high drama and trp rating dailies like Teen Bahuraaniyaan & Waaris and parellal lead in Timhari Disha.
As for films, he will make his debut in Jhootha hi Sahi as the second lead with John Abraham. The film is directed by none other than Abbas Tyrewala and produced by Saregama India Ltd and Madhu Mantena.

Prashant Chawla plays the character of Uday in the film Jhootha Hi Sahi. He is the owner of a happening gay club in London. Uday parties his way through life. Best thing about him is that he is absolutely unapologetic about his lifestyle. Uday is a complete player and dates a new guy every week. He has a strange bond with Aliya (Alishka Varde-Raghu’s sister) and seeks her approval about every guy he dates. There is a weekly dinner at Aliya and Omar’s house where he brings his ‘Boyfriend of the week’ hoping to get that elusive nod from Aliya. The day she says ‘yes’ to a guy, Uday would immediately move in with him.?
