Season 7 of "Outlander" is based on the seventh book in the series, "An Echo in the Bone." In this season, the Fraser family continues to navigate the complexities and challenges of life in the 18th century amidst the backdrop of the American Revolution.
The first season closely follows the events of the initial book, "Outlander" (or "Cross Stitch"). It introduces Claire Randall's time travel to 18th-century Scotland, her encounters with Highlanders, and her complex relationship with Jamie Fraser as they navigate the Jacobite risings.
The sixth season is anticipated to cover the events of the sixth book, "A Breath of Snow and Ashes." It will continue the story of the Frasers as they navigate the Revolutionary War and face the consequences of their actions, both in their personal lives and in the larger historical context.
Inspired by the fifth book, "The Fiery Cross," this season explores the Fraser family's life on the Ridge as they become further entangled in the events leading to the American Revolution. They face personal conflicts, loyalty tests, and deal with the increasing tensions between the British and American colonies.
Based on the fourth book, “Drums of Autumn,” this season follows Claire and Jamie as they settle in colonial North Carolina and establish Fraser’s Ridge. They face new challenges, including conflicts with Native Americans, the looming American Revolution, and the discovery of Brianna’s true parentage.
Inspired by the third book, "Voyager," this season follows Claire and Jamie's lives as they are separated for twenty years. Claire returns to her own time and raises their daughter, Brianna, with Frank. Eventually, she reunites with Jamie and together they embark on a voyage to the Caribbean, encountering pirates, slavery, and more.
Based on the second book, “Dragonfly in Amber,” the second season of Outlander sees Claire and Jamie journey to Paris in an attempt to prevent the Battle of Culloden and alter history. They become embroiled in the French court’s politics, conspiracies, and intrigue, all while facing personal and emotional challenges.
