MUMBAI, 26 July, 2010: Get ready to be WOWed with some amazing, some unseen and some all time favourite entertaining acts on India’s biggest talent show, India’s Got Talent Khoj 2 premiering July 30th; Fridays and Saturdays at 9 pm on COLORS. After enthralling the nation with breathtaking acts and spellbinding entertainment in its first season, India’s Got Talent has returned in a grander avatar. Aptly titled ‘Khoj 2’, the search for ordinary people with astonishingly extraordinary talent has already started, presided over by the eminent jury comprising of Kirron Kher, Sonali Bendre and Sajid Khan. After multiple auditions from every nook and corner of the country, the jury has hand-picked the best-of-the-best acts for you to enjoy and choose the ultimate winner.
What you got to see in the last season could be merely the tip of the ice berg. With Khoj 2, be prepared to see performances ranging from bizarre to outstanding. From an African tribal dance to communicating through facial expressions; from beat boxing and stumping to acrobats; from sand art to traditional martial arts and folk dances, and much more… India’s Got Talent is bigger, better and more exciting this season.
rticulating the excitement surrounding the show, Ashvini Yardi, Programming Head of COLORS said, “We promise a rocking experience to our viewers with India’s Got Talent Khoj 2. After a very successful first season, we knew the second edition had to be something much bigger and more exciting. This season, we are not only going to be the most unique talent hunt show, but we plan to outdo ourselves. We have travelled to over fourteen cities to audition everyday regular people who have some interesting talent in them. The scale hence, is much bigger than last season.”
Sharing his experience after the auditions, the show’s new judge, Sajid Khan said, “I am so thrilled to be a part of this fantastic show. The concept is truly amazing as you feel so proud and at times amused, when you see people from the smallest of places coming forward to astound you with their talent and at times the lack of it! For instance, we had this man who presented a ridiculous dance, dressed in Spiderman costume stitched by his wife and another one who despite his handicap performed beautifully”.
Kirron Kher added, “It is truly overwhelming to see such a variety of talent from every corner of the country and to be amongst some really gifted individuals. I salute their spirit and am really looking forward to the next level after the auditions where we will get to see them perform again”.
After a season of rags to riches, where Prince, a group of daily-wagers from Orissa won the award for creating the most entertaining act in India, Siddhartha Basu, CMD of Big Synergy is excited to be back with the second edition of India’s Got Talent. He said, “Reaching further and digging deeper across the country, this year’s search for India’s most entertaining act on India’s Got Talent has brought up a big banquet of acts for viewers to feast on. We have more variety, range and quality this year, and can promise the audience the sort of acts, talent and entertainment this country’s TV has never seen before”.
“It is the beauty of this show that it does not limit talent with factors such as age, background, appearance and gender. We have seen such wonderfully talented people in the audition phase and I am extremely excited to share these acts with the entire nation”, said, Sonali Bendre.
India’s Got Talent Khoj 2 did not pull any stops and dug its way deeper than last season to retrieve those hidden gems from the depths of our country. The show travelled to smaller destinations like Ludhiana, Lucknow, Muzaffarpur, Jodhpur, Guwahati, Shillong, Gwalior, Nagpur, Thrissur and Srinagar this year to find that individual or group, whose talent is, in a word, mind-blowing! While the rules of the game remain the same, the game itself changes as this season has seen an exponential growth in participation and subsequently in the level of acts performed. With jury members Kirron, Sonali and Sajid keeping a keen vigil for unique talent, the charming hosts, Nikhil Chinappa and Ayushman continue to pep up the spirits.
Conceptualised by Simon Cowell’s SYCO TV Production Company and UK’s FremantleMedia, the producers of shows like American Idol and many other big ticket reality shows, India’s Got Talent Khoj 2 is a multi-performance high-entertainment variety show. In India, the magnum opus is produced by Big Synergy and will premiere on July 30; Fridays and Saturdays at 9pm on COLORS.
