The function started with Ekta kapoor being awarded with th young achiever award by th president of rotary club of bombay- Paul George.
Ekta answered questions thereafter . She was asked , what was her mantra of success and she said answered that there is no mantra but hard work and being open to taking suggestions and being flexible to change is what she followed while she was struggling to make something of her life. She said as a child she had no ambition and her father pushed her to take up a job , she joined an advt company and that’s where she realized her passion for TV.

She said she herself was a couch potato and watched a lot of english tele serials and realised there was lack of serials in India.

#q why were there more women in her serial than men and?
Ekta- in hindi cinema the plots are generally men oriented and women object of desire to add glamour or to do a dance or item number, generally supporting actors but in her serials the story reveals around women, the protagonist is a lady the vamp is a lady the men are mere arm candies, we only bring in th men when we need to show them romancing or dancing ( to this the audience which consisted of 70 %men from corporate and top professionals burst out laughing).
#q why is there no end to the serials – they sometimes are stretched and at times just stopped abruptly.

Ekta-my tv serials are about people and there lives when people are interested to know about there lives they watch it , its a glimpse into there minds and there lives so there is no need to have a strong story the day you don’t want to know bout there lives you can stop watching- the drama which goes on in a persons life doesn’t stop ever till he lives so the serial stay on air till they manage to grip the minds of th audience.

#q she being a youth how come there are no serials she is making on youth.
Ekta- my serials are made for women who are primarily at home or are housewives . My target audience is not the youth at the moment for they have do have a means of entertainment its the women in urban or rural area who I think enjoy my serials because my serials deal with social issues and also they become a course of entertainment. My idea was to bring entertainment to your doorstep and I think that’s what I am doing.

Many other questions were put to her and as usual she answered with elan to an audience and members who are top professionals and corporate of Mumbai – Ekta Kapoor truly left them with lot more they had expected the telly queen would.
