Designs a special Diamond Studded trophy to be presented to them
Mumbai 18th October 2008, To mark twenty-five years of India’s cricketing glory, to commemorate the 1983 World Cup win and to honor the Heroes of 1983 the Gitanjali group has decided to create a special trophy that will be embellished with diamonds and rubies from the house of Gitanjali. The same was unveiled at a gala event today.

The trophy is specially created using 25-carat diamonds and will be presented to the World Cup heroes, at an event in Dubai later this year. The diamond trophy is made using the best quality diamond and rubies. Each diamond is studded with finesse, to make the end product look aesthetic. The historic event in Dubai, will be organized by Channel 2 and Professional Management Group

The diamond-studded trophy that was unveiled is created with a fine blend of 82.2-gram gold and 20cts diamond. The Value of the trophy is approximately Rs. ___Lacs each. The diamond trophy is made using the best quality diamond, rubies and the purest gold. It is encrusted with 7118 diamonds and 36 rubies. Each stone is studded with finesse, to make the end product look aesthetic. The diamond trophy is specially created by Tesoro. The Tesoro line actually redefines the way diamonds can be used, taking it beyond the usual and conventional sense of designing jewellery and collectibles.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Mehul Choksi Chairman Gitanjali Group states, Kapil Dev and his team created history at Lords in 83′. It was a match on which legends are written even today. The trophy is our way of saluting the legends that bought the country its first and only World Cup glory. ”
