For the first time ever, Mumbai’ music connoisseurs has unique experience of a rare confluence of Ghazal and Percussion” where two Maestros, Ghazal Maestro Pankaj Udhas and Percussion genius Trilok Gurtu performed together for the first time at “Sur aur Saaz” concert at Nehru Centre, Worli on Wednesday 2014.
The programme was graced by well-renowned Young musicians including Rakesh Chaurasia , Gino Banks, Sheldon D’Silva, Ravi Chary and Sangeet Haldipur
Also present at the do were pankai udhas wife Farida Udhas and dougther nayaab udhas and Reva Udhas.
Shri Trilok Gurtu said “Pankajji and myself we both have different set of audience. He knows me from my childhood days. I was bought up with music and ghazals since I was a child. Music is one all over; it depends on how it is presented. My inclination towards music is to doing different experimentation all the time and I love doing experiments and that too without boundaries, to prove impossible is possible.
Mr. Pankaj Udhas said “it was indeed a great experience to perform with such a talented artist who knows the intricacies of Indian as well as Western percussion.
