Mr Raj Shroff, President of the Amateur Riders’ Club (ARC) said, “Over the past decade we have seen increasing interest in the equestrian sport amidst Indian youth. While a vast majority of them may not train to become professionals, the Club has a fair number of riders who pursue this sport for passion. This is but natural, given that this sport is not just about being physically fit but is also about being able to relate to the horses. While managing a horse for the sport can be acquired as a skill, to be able to communicate with them naturally is possible with an inherent interest in the animals. Thus, it becomes a long-term interest for most of the riders.
Given the need to be agile and fit, we see that this sport is catching up amongst children and youth. This event is an effort from our end to bolster this interest and provide a platform for enhancing skills and meeting fellow-riders of the same age group.”
Mr Gautam Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, Raymond Limited said, “This equestrian championship for the young is an interesting outdoor sporting opportunity combining speed, fitness and animal connect. That ARC has established a forum to attract the young to this sport and grow to the stature of stars tomorrow is a welcome move.
Raymond has associated itself with this equestrian show given that its values are in complete synergy with that of the sport. Raymond, the corporate brand embodies values of Excellence, Trust and Quality, ‘The Complete Man’ stands as a role model for the Indian Male who is not only well turned out but also sensitive and caring in his relationships. It also is a reflection of the emotions of the young.
The super cars display at the show is an added attraction, given that speed is a connecting principle of horses and these class of cars.”
Mr. Raj Shroff added, “We consider our association with Raymond for this sport as an appropriate fit. Young Indians are developing broader sporting interests and with Raymond contributing to one such growing sport – riding – we are confident of making rapid strides in our efforts.”
