Shekhar at Force India Corporate Go-Karting Championship

Mumbai, Sunday, July 5, 2009: Force India Formula One Team, India’s pioneering platform for motor sports globally and India’s top rated Radio station, Radio City came together to present the ‘Corporate Go-Karting Championship’. The event was spread across Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, where top corporate houses from these five cities battled it out in the regional rounds and the top three winners from each city matched their racing skills in Mumbai on July 5, 2009 at the Hakone Go-Karting facility in Powai as the Force India Radio City Corporate Go-Karting Championship came to a nail biting Grand Finale.

The grand finale was an exciting evening with supporters cheering their teams with great gusto. The first place in the Corporate Go Karting Championship was clinched by Bangalore boy Nitin Y.K. from Aegis, while Vaibhav from TCS Mumbai came a close second. The second Runners Up was held by Kailash Shantilal from Ness Technologies from cyber city Hyderbad. The Championship offered the national winner and a companion a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of the Singapore Grand Prix and to meet up Force India Formula One team drivers. The first runner up received a ticket for 2 to London and the second runner up received a return ticket to anywhere in India, courtesy Kingfisher Airlines.

The fun filled afternoon saw the corporates in a new light where apart from the exciting race and cheering for their favorite teams they got a chance to enjoy a day out with the family. Remote control car games for Children ,Celebrities, loads of prizes and merchandise to be won, DJ music and a Live performances by Indian Idol winner Rahul Vaidya and acclaimed fusion band ‘Filter Coffee’ made this a event packed with entertainment. What added to the thrill of the evening was a celebrity race that saw the cast of Da Dating Truths try their tryst with speed. So the audience was enthralled to see the likes of Shekhar Suman, Gaurav Bajaj, Vikas Manaktala, Tarun Khanna, Karan Mehra doing laps of the grid in the karts and get a feel of what it takes to be a Formula One driver.
