Kolkata, September 23, 2012- The 8th Edition of Seagram’s Blenders Pride Fashion Tour will showcase chic and the best from the fashion industry, promising to make the world a stylish place. The designers featuring this season of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour are Ashish N Soni, Asmita Marwa, Gaviin Miguel, Mandira Wirk, Nandita Mahtani, Neeta Lulla, Nida Mahmood, Pankaj & Nidhi, Raghavendra Rathore, Falguni & Shane Peacock, Shantanu & Nikhil, Vikram Phadnis and Wendell Rodricks.
BPFT 2012 will commence in Chandigarh on September 15 and conclude on November 4 in Mumbai, an exciting 50 day journey. From Chandigarh to Mumbai, 6 cities will play host to the work of 13 fabulous designers and their spectacular creations, at what can only be called a benchmark on the Indian fashion calendar.

The Bollywood Diva and fashion icon Priyanka Chopra has been appointed by Pernod Ricard India as the Brand Ambassador for BLENDER’s PRIDE FASHION TOUR 2012. Priyanka Chopra features in a multimedia campaign for BPFT shot stylishly in black & white by ace lens man Bharat Sikka. As the event ambassador, her stylish persona and global fashion sensibilities will be a super attraction.

After a grand preview in Mumbai on September 2, the eagerly awaited fashion extravaganza kick started in Chandigarh and now travels to the city of joy – Kolkata over the weekend, featuring Pankaj & Nidhi, Ashish N Soni, Mandira Wirk and Falguni & Shane Peacock on day 2 of BPFT.

Intricate craftsmanship and finish is the hallmark of the designing duo, Pankaj and Nidhi and their latest collection called “Liquid Gold Tree” lives up to the work of this very creative husband and wife team. The collection is very formal evening wear; with each eclectic piece making a strong fashion statement with its workmanship and the beautiful styling details. For the debutant designer duo, this would be the first time they have essentially used gold, since they normally do bright colours and are known for our contrasts in black, white and grey but gold has never appeared for a collection. The patterns are almost tree of life like in a gold avaatar with plenty of black and colours of precious stones like agate, blue, quartz blue, sapphire and ruby. Sizzling beauty Chitrangada Singh walked the ramp for the ace designers.
When it comes to creating relaxed easy comfortable clothing, Ashish N Soni knows his job and his collection is perfect for that holiday season with very light as air fabrics specially created for the garments. The colours and prints are very relevant and more like the kaleidoscope pattern which moves into minuscule shapes. The colours Ashish choses are on a pastel palette for the resort look that will work beautifully for an evening by the beach sipping a long cool drink or even for a more formal outing. Australian cricketer Shaun Tait hit a century with his look as the showstopper for Ashish N Soni.

Here is a collection that will thrill brides around the world as Mandira Wirk presents her creations inspired by the English Bride called “Veils – Unveiled”. From soft fresh ivory with muted silver to very powdery hues of aqua, lilac, lemon, peach and pink in different shades, the colours are just perfect for the beautiful gowns and minis with the perfect hint of sparkle. Sensational Yami Gautam – Vicky Donor Fame features as celebrity for Mandira Wirk.

They have dressed the hottest Bollywood and Hollywood stars and are known for their very avant garde and futuristic fashion sensibilities. Falguni and Shane Peacock believe in moving fast forward in fashion. Known for their voluminous creation the designers now prefer a more lean and moulded look for the garments. Using beautiful bugle beads, sequins and diamantes the clothes are something that the wearer can relate to for daily use.
