Temperatures soared at the Grand Ballroom of The Leela Kempinski as the graduating students of the IITC Institute sashayed down the runway with excitement and panache, wearing spectacular avant-garde garments of their own creativity and design.
Yes, this is one showing that did away with well-known models and instead, had their jubilant students of all shapes and sizes, model their very own creations.
Of course, no fashion show is complete without showstoppers and hence, the enterprising young studens invited supermodels Aryan Vaid, model and National karate champ Sandhya Shetty, ex Miss India Amruta Patki and Rajneesh Duggal to walk the ramp in some of their more exotic creations.
Beaming with pride at their students were Founder and Director-CEO of IITC, Mr. S.K Urval, along with his enthusiastic sons,Vikrant Urval and Sandesh Urval.
Expectedly, the Urval family had a number of their close friends in attendance to cheer on the students. Captain Nair, the owner of The Leela Hotels Group was “awed and inspired” by the talent that was on display while singer Sukhwinder Singh was so enamoured by the student’s creativity that he broke into a song when invited on stage. Also spotted was singer Jatin of the famous Jatin-Lallit duo and comedian Raju Srivastava, who expectedly, had the audience in splits of laughter.
Among the other prominent personalities from the fashion and the glamour industry were choreographers Badshah and Yasmin Khan (who choreographed the show), singer Anaida (looking sensuous in a slinky gown), designer Nisha Sagar (who came to cheer for the students for a while even though her husband was ill and in bed), exMiss India Shweta Vijay Nair, designer Nisha Merchant, actressSvetha Salve (wearing a sexy pair of hot-shorts), designerKawaljeet Singh, actor Gary Richardson, jewelry designer Srishti Kiran Kumar, model Shiffanjali Shekhar, writer Meher Castellino, designer AD Singh and his wife Puneet.
IITC, one of the premier profession-oriented educational institutes of India had organized the fashion show to mark the splendid foray of its students into the fashion industry.
The show served as a platform and provided an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate and express their creativity and they left no stone unturned.
