Mumbai, February 10, 2010: It was a star-studded night as the crème de la crème of the Indian music fraternity converged at the second edition of the Airtel Mirchi Music Awards 2009 held on Wednesday, 10th February 2009. All roads led to the Bandra Kurla Complex, as Radio Mirchi announced its winners for the finest talent in Hindi Film Music at the awards night. This year saw LIC, Airfone & Parle Krackjack as associate sponsors while Airtel was the Title Sponsor, Dell as style partner, Galaxy as Indulgence Partner and Make My Trip as Exclusive Travel Partner, Whyte and Mackay as Partner, Bright Advertising as Outdoor Partner and Times Now as New Partner.

The evening shone bright, as Stars, Celebrities and Super talents of Bollywood paraded down the Red Carpet to celebrate the best in Hindi film music for the year 2009.

Electrifying performances by singers like KK, Sunidhi Chuahan, Rekha Bhardwaj, Himesh Reshamiya and Usha Uthup. Shahid Kapoor and Katrina Kaif enthralled the audience by performing on the best tracks of the year.

Speaking at the event, Prashant Panday, CEO, ENIL said, “With the second edition, Radio Mirchi Music Awards has transcended to being more than just an event; it is a chronicle of the Indian Music industry. The integrity and dedication behind Mirchi Music Awards is what makes it unique. The Awards salute the hard work, passion and the immense creative talent of our music industry. This year we have added a non film category as well. Over a period of time we see the Mirchi Music Awards including other genres of music as well. For us at Mirchi this is our way of saying Music Ko Mirchi Ka Salaam”.

In the midst of all the activity and entertainment, the audience got a chance to see history unfolding (literally) as envelopes were opened on stage to reveal the award winners of 2009. The Winners accepted their awards with exhilaration and humility, as the air filled with thunderous applause and cheers.
