Chetan & Lavinia Hansraj hosted a wonderful do at Le Sutra as wine and cheese flowed at the exhibition cum launch of ‘Lavinia Hansraj’ Soft Furnishings. The lovely designs were much appreciated by the gathering and the guests picked up most of the stuff on offer. Priya & Namrata Dutt were among the first to walk in and spent a considerable amount of time admiring the wonderful creations. She left with a handful of bags with her sister and was overheard complementing Lavinia about her designs. Viren Shah & Meghana Naidu were among the early birds too and hung around as more and more people walked in. Lavinia’s good friend Nisha Harale stayed right through the evening and picked up most of the X’Mas collection as hubby Adam was seen settling a big tab on her behalf. Jugal Hansraj was there to lend support to his cousin Chetan in his new venture too, though he had to leave early.

Others who were spotted at the exhibition included Nisha Jamwal, Munisha Khatwani, Deepak Bajaj, Zeba Kohli, Kushal Punjabi & Simran, Apurva Agnihotri, Shilpa Saklani, Politician Asif Bhamla, Sameer and Palak Seth among others. Chetan & Lavinia played the perfect hosts and couldnt stop beaming at the complements on their collection which sold like hot cakes.

Chetan & Lavinia Hansraj announced the launch of ‘Lavinia Hansraj’ Soft Furnishings at an exhibition of their collection held at Le Sutra, Bandra. The Collection includes hand embroidered & intricately designed cushion covers, table runners, dinner mats, curtains / shears and ‘throws’. They also unveiled an exclusive X’Mas collection in red and velvet and also special X’Mas bells and candles. Present on the occasion were celebrity guests including Priya Dutt, Jugal Hansraj, Apurva agnihotri, Shilpa Saklani Adam Bedi and many others.

Lavinia Hansraj said “Chetan & I have been planning to launch our line of ‘soft furnishings’ for some time now. We started off designing for our own home and then went on to do a few exclusive assignments for close friends and relatives. I felt the need to venture into this untapped market when I was looking to decorate my house after we had recently renovated it. The stuff available in the market always left me dissatisfied and that is when I decided to design it myself with the help of experienced ‘karigaars’. Our designs are all hand embroidered and includes a lot of sequinned work with gold patchwork. Mostly velvet and raw silk is used, which is not readily available elsewhere. Chetan’s expertise in Fashion Designing (being a graduate of NIFT) has helped a great deal in designing and ideating our collection.”

Chetan Hansraj added “It has taken us 4-5 months of dedicated effort and application to come out with our first exhaustive Collection. We are also introducing ‘throws’ (drapes of sofa / bed), which is not easily available in India. Lavinia has been passionate about designing these embellishments and with my background in Fashion Designing we decided to take it a step forward and cater to the ever growing demand for such niche items. Apart from the X’Mas collection we also plan to come out with a Spring / Summer Collection and Diwali / Festive Collection in the coming year. In addition to adorning one’s house, these can also make exquisite gift items. ”
