Celebrating Le Mill’s first candle and launch of their men’s wear corner: L’Homme. 31ST MARCH, MUMBAI: A year ago, Mumbai welcomed its very first concept store, “LE MILL”, at an afternoon hosted by the co-founders CECILIA MORELLI PARIKH, JULIE LEYMARIE and the store’s creative consultant AURÉLIE DE LIMELETTE.
To celebrate the 1st launch anniversary of Le Mill, the ladies of Le Mill hosted an androgynous themed ball where all the guests followed the theme and dressed their “dandy” best! Among those who came by to congratulate Cecilia Morelli Parikh, Julie Leymarie, Aurélie de Limelette on this exciting milestone were Narendra Kumar, Hemant, Pratima and Gaurav Bhatia, Anaita Shroff and Homi Adjania, Simone Singh, Carol Gracias, Little Shilpa, Poorna Jagannathan, Ramona and Bruno, Narang, Laila Lamba, Monica Vaziralli Divya Thakur, Malini Alrekar, Nachiket Barve, Rashmi Uday Singh, Vikram Raizada, Aki Narula, Michelle and Yohan Poonawalla, Devita Saraf amongst others.
Located by Mumbai’s docks, Le Mill has introduced to the city, a new aesthetic in lifestyle and fashion combining the best of design with a sense of understated luxury.
On this special day, Le Mill also launched their men’s corner – L’HOMME, with the best of men’s fashion from all over the globe. The store boasts of names like Acne, Lecoanet Hemant , Cutler and Gross, Clemence de Gabriac to name a few. In the L’Homme section, Le Mill also houses leather accessories.
Guests were treated to an interactive soap installation by veteran artist SHILPA GUPTA and live shaves by KIEHL’S FROM NEW YORK. Shilpa Gupta lives and works in Mumbai, India where she has studied sculpture at the Sir J. J. School of Fine Arts from 1992 to 1997. She creates artwork using interactive video, websites, objects, photographs, sound and public performances to probe and examine subversively such themes as desire, religion, notions of security on the street and on the imagined border. From the live installation at Le Mill, the guests could also take home a soap each!
The sprawling store was transformed with floating candelabras, white sheets and candles. The guests were served martini’s by ABSOLUT, and there was a whiskey bar by CHIVAS. The dinner was organized by CAFÉ PICO AT LE MILL. Café Pico has been set-up with the promise to bring the best gourmet flavours from around the world to every food lover.
