Veena Malik in the City of Joy, Kolkata for the promotion of her film “Zindagi 50 50”. Bollywood actress Veena Malik visited the City of Joy, Kolkata today for the promotion of her upcoming Bollywood film “Zindagi 50 50”. Veena was also accompanied with another star cast of the film, Rajan Verma, who is playing the role of Birju in Zindagi 50-50.

There were over thousands of excited fans in the crowd who were wishing to get a glimpse of Veena Malik and desired to meet her personally in spite of tight security when she visited the City Centre II Mall for her visit to EyeCatchers, Hair and Beauty Salon. Veena has been seen strongly promoting the film and has been travelling to various cities like Kolkata, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, etc as a part of her City tours for promotion of this Bollywood movie slated to be released on 24th May, 2013.

Veena’s visit to EyeCatchers, Hair and Beauty Salon at City Centre II was followed by the Press Meet for the promotion of her film at Hotel O2 where she addressed the Media. The Bollywood diva then also visited Nocturne, the Lounge Bar at Shakespeare Sarani and attended a private engagement ceremony at The Oberoi Grand at the evening.

Addressing the media, Veena Malik, the Pakistani model-turned actress said, “I am glad to come to Kolkata and extremely happy to meet my lovely fans all over the City of Joy. I am here to promote my movie Zindagi 50:50 where I am playing a very challenging role and I hope that people would love it.”

Apart from Veena, the movie also stars Riya Sen, Rajan Verma, Arya Babbar, Supriya Kumari, Rajpal Yadav and Murli Sharma in pivotal roles. ‘Zindagi 50-50? is directed by Rajiv Ruia, in which Veena is playing a prostitute named Madhuri and the actress gets into the skin of the character to bring live her character. This is not the first time the Bollywood industry is featuring a leading lady in this type of role. Yet, while preparing for her role, Veena had done intensive research and even met real prostitutes to understand her character better and also their way of living, talking, body language and attracting people. She has combined a lot of that information in her character Madhuri. She says she loves the character she is playing and whom she describes as being “realistic rather than bold”. The actress said the movie was about a true story of a girl and she had given more than her 100% efforts to Madhuri, the character she was playing.
Veena Malik has done a sizzling photo shoot in black and pink bikinis for the movie. The Pakistani model turned actress said she loved dressing in bikinis for the film’s photo shoot. She has already made headlines for shooting some very steamy scenes in the upcoming film. The trailer of movie Zindagi 50:50 has already gone viral with 50 lakh views. Veena Malik has been getting a very positive response for her film. Malik is also a part of The City That Never Sleeps, a movie based on night life and is being produced by Satish Reddy and directed by Haroon Rashid.

Veena while sharing her experience of shooting said, “I love to shoot in real locations rather than in the studios.” Speaking more about her role in the film, Veena said, “This Film is more based on a tragedy than boldness and sex. The role I am playing in the film has a deep character in it.” The beauty diva is all set to wow the audience with her acting skills in ‘Zindagi 50-50’, which will hit theatres from May 24th, 2013. The movie is also being dubbed in various languages including Tamil.

Synopsis of the Film:
Zindagi means Life… Sometimes it’s fun, and sometimes it’s a curse… but it’s just a point of view. People pray to God for happiness, so that they can enjoy their life. But the God says that he had already given a life to them, to enjoy all the happiness. It has been said that, the way you asks question to your life, it answers you in the same manner. “Zindagi 50:50” is the same story of such question and answers… It’s a story of Rupa (A Housewife), Madhuri (Prostitute) and Nainja (A Struggling Actress).

Rupa’s husband, Birju (Auto Driver) has a dream of getting a house. To fulfill his dream, Rupa breaks all the limits of her life. To complete her dream of house, CR Lele (Government Servant) pushes her in a dark side of her life, where she gets the house, but also gets a smirch on her respect.
And Madhuri, who had already broken all the limits of society… later, realizes that life is lived on the basis of needs not by the desires, like a beggar can fulfill his needs, but sometimes kings are also unable to complete their desires.
Naina, who’s a Junior Artist, having big dreams in her life, but the truth of Film industry shows her the reality of life that “kabhi kisi ko mukkamal jahaan nahin milta.”

Zindagi 50:50 is a story of special dreams of a common man. And to fulfill those dreams, he has to struggle a lot, but sometimes they gets it easily and sometime he has to lose everything, “Zindagi 50:50” has this same of losing and getting. One part belongs to the life of a sex worker in Mumbai, second part belongs to an Auto Rickshaw driver and Third part narrates the struggle of a junior artist.
