Press meet of Kahani Chandrakanta Ki
Even the first pouring rains with thunderstorm could not keep away the glitterati and star cast from unveiling of Sunil Agnihotri’s magical mega oeuvre fantasy costume drama ‘Kahani Chandrakanta Ki’ at Grand Maratha. “They are God’s blessing for us,” comments the director Sunil Agnihotri.
Shikha Swaroop as Chandrakanta and Santosh Shukla as Raja Virendra Singh walked in their complete stately attires amid puffs of smoke. Others to join them on stage were director Sunil Agnihotri, Mamik, Vindu Dara Singh, Rajendra Gupta, Kruttika Desai, Sonia Rakkar, Shiva, Shailendra Singh, Rahul, Saahil, Shital Shah, Divya Dwivedi, CEO of Sahara One Suresh Mishra and Boney Kapoor.
Since his accident on the Pune Express highway three months back, Rajendrs Gupta made his first public appearance for the unveiling of Kahani Chandrakanta Ki. “I am so happy to be here, to be part of my own show. Sunil has a magic wand for weaving a story beautifully. We have loved shooting and I know that the audience will love to watch it too.”
Kahani Chandrakanta ki is produced and director by Sunil Agnihotri. Kahani Chandrakana Ki is inspired by babu Devki Nandan Khatri’s CHANDRAKANTA SANTITI.
It will begin telecast on Sahara One from Monday, 6th June 2011 at 8 PM everyday Monday to Friday. Comments the director producer Sunil Agnihotri, “Sahara One has a very strong reach in India, especially in the Hindi speaking belt. It has some very good shows on air. Besides, people at helm in Sahara are very supportive and have given me complete creative freedom. Together, we shall be able to create another landmark.”
It is the love story of Shiv Dutt’s daughter Kishori and Chandrakanta’s son Indrajeet. Because of the family feud it will have an overload of adventure with magical twists & turns. This fantasy drama is bringing to life the super successful characters of princess Chandrakanta, Kroor Singh, Pundit Jagannath, Badrinath etc under the banner of Sunil Agnihotri Production.
Adds Sunil, “Chandrakanta Santiti, in itself, is a huge product. No other fantasy story could match its magic, popularity or success. In any case costume Dramas – whether Historical, Mythological or Fantasies – have always been close to my heart. Their canvas is BIG and creating an aura around a different time zone is so very interesting. After a long break, once again we are bringing the similar thrill, shape shifting aiyyars & magic of tilism back at a higher level with more and better special effects through my favourite subject of costume drama.” Shooting of ‘Kahani Chandrakanta Ki,’ has been done at actual outdoor locations.
Director – Producer Sunil Agnihotri had begun his journey on Televisions with serial Chandrakanta which was telecast on DD-1. It took serial making to another level of class and grandeur. Sunil, who is associated with mega serial and success on television, had made history in the afternoons with serial Yug. His Betaal Pachisi gave tough competition to Krishna, where TRP’s favoured fantasy more than the Gods. Then his mythological Jai Ganesha on Zee was a treat to watch as far as Mythologies are concerned. His another fantasy serial Chandramukhi reigned at top position on DD1. Like his earlier mega opus Chandrakanta, this was also a complete costume drama. BLACK was on Paranormal activities, Aliens & extra-terrestrial and was made on an international canvas.
