The Musical extravaganza at TWCL (The wedding cafe n lounge), this weekend, well and truly rocked as Viveck Shettyy and his band took centrestage and delighted the audience with exciting music. Viveck Shettyy began with a very soulful rendition of Kailash Kher ‘s “Teri Dewaane” which was very well received by the audience. The musical journey extended to all genres of music from contemporary rock to classical to melody a la “Kishore Kumar” style. “Pal, Pal dil ke Paas” received a thunderous applause from the audience and “Kaho na Kaho” had everybody grooving on the dance floor. Viveck Shettyy and his band are also scheduled to perform at the Kalaghoda festival on 10th February at Gallery Beyond.
Gary Richardson ensured the evening was high on the humour quotient with a quick dose of standup comedy and theatre with Cyndy Khojol, Rehu Res and Chitra Jain. Siddharth Kannan came well in time and was in great spirits. Madhuri Bhatia was the first to hit the dance floor. Harmeet Gulzar was accompanied his wife. Rajeev Nigam was in his elements and dropped witty one liners time n again right through the evening. Longinies Fernandes also hit the dance floor and did the boogie woogie. Bali Brahmabhatt congratulated Viveck Shettyy and his band for their fabulous performance and went on to croon “Tere Bin jeena nahin”.
Umaesh Pherwani was overheard saying “O hansini” was his personal favorite. Mir Ranjan Negi along with his wife Vineeta stayed on till the very end. Zuzer Lucknowalla of TWCL was the gracious host and ensured his guests were well attended to. The band signed off and closed the evening with Viveck Shettyy singing “Chalte Chalte, Mere Ye Geet Yaad Rakhna”. It was indeed a memorable evening and great fun.
