Young Santoor Maestro and Music Composer Abhay Sopori is a renowned name in the music industry and he’s well known for his classical style of playing Santoor alike his father. Recently another look of Abhay Sopori came into scene when he made school children singing on his tunes during a concert, organised as the part of Spic Macay Virasat at Mayur Vihar based Janki Devi Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya.
It was a pleasant morning for all the students, teachers and others as it was the first time such a programme was organised at school premises.
Abhay Sopori started the programme with Raag ‘Nat Bhairav’, in which first he presented ‘Alaap Jod’ followed by Bandish ‘Karam Karo Data’ in Teen Taal, ‘Ab To Maan Lo’ in Ek Taal and ended with Drut Composition in Teen Taal. During the programme Sarit Das, Shraddha and Vipul Rao accompanied him on Tabla, Tanpura and Sur Santoor respectively.
It was a great and worth watched moment when students begin singing on the tunes of Abhay. At first they were afraid but it was the sheer magic of Abhay’s presence that turns them on. Once they started singing together the musical morning was at its best.
