There’s no business like show business– this is something I totally agree with. Why, without it, would our mundane lives seem as interesting? Not that we live because of it, au contraire, show business is because of us. Entertainment is truly under rated, don’t you think? I mean, think of all the trouble that our darlings from Bollywood go through just so we can be a tad amused. Really, I think they don’t get half the credit they deserve. So, in honor of the selfless stars, I dedicate this week’s write up to the wannabes!
Rakhi Sawant
When you say the word wannabes, what is the first name that pops into your head? No prizes for guessing this. Why? It is none other than our very own queen of the rags-Rakhi Sawant! The things that this girl does to get noticed, I tell you. I have heard of item girls set the screen on fire with their sizzling movements, but this little chica has outdone them all. She actually set her derriere on fire, literally! It seems that one of her song sequences for her film ‘Buddha Mar Gaya’ required the well endowed babe to prance about funeral pyres in a grave yard. So engrossed was she in her hip cracking moves, that she did not realize that her behind was on fire! Thankfully, none of the goods were damaged and she lived to tell the tale. Me thinks that the people on the sets have to be a little more careful. No one wants to have a burning rack on their hands right?
Mohit Ahlawat
Next up, we have Mohit Ahlawat – Ramu’s once upon a time blue eyed boy. Now he is so far away from the RGV camp that he seems like a little blue dot. Well, he has to do his bit so that we know he is still alive and kicking. The regular stuff about new movie ventures does not seem to be working for him. So Mohit decided to take a very unconventional way to get news space. Claiming to be unhappy with the quality of milk in amchi Mumbai, Mohit went ahead and bought a whole herd of cows so he can have fresh cow’s milk Punjab style. You se, the poor lad just can’t do with the adulterated stuff masquerading as milk in tinsel town. So he decided to get the village to the city. Nice move Mohit sweetie, but answer me this, how on earth are you going to pay for the upkeep of a herd of cows? We really do not want to see you selling that milk on our doorstep to break even, what with the bad luck with films and all, do we?
Enough of the wannabes, let’s move on to something more exciting. Hmmm… ok, so you know how John and Bipasha called it quits, and then said all is ok, and then called it quit and then said it is all ok, and then called it quits….? Well, now I bet they are going to say its all ok! Gosh! These guys are just the limit. I mean, make up your mind people! It really starts to get boring after a while you know. The reason why there is speculation about them getting back together is because John seems really determined to win Bips back. In fact, he takes time out of his busy schedule and drops in for lunch every second day at Bip’s Bandra pad. They are trying to get to know each other all over again and are trying to see if there is a second chance in there. If you ask me, I think it should actually be the other way round, unless it was John who was making out with a popular footballer…
Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapur
I guess these two should try learning a thing or two from the super committed Kapoor Siamese twins. No, no. I do not mean that there actually are Kapoor twins. What I mean by that is Kareena and Shahid. Honestly, it seems like the two of them are joined at the hip or something. They rarely go anywhere without the other. In fact, nowadays, she has started accompanying him for script narrations too. Not for the films that they are doing together silly, for HIS script narrations. Nothing is approved by him without her nod of consent. Arrey, when they both landed up for his photo shoot for Kismat Connection, she immediately rejected the outfits laid out for him. She spoke with the designer and had a new set laid out for him. Talk about getting work done! This star is leaving no stone unturned in making it loud and clear that this is Bollywood’s number one jodi. Hell, we believe that Bebo.
Sridevi with her husband, Boney Kapoor
Guess this should be rechristened as couples’ week because there is so much happening with our filmy couples! This is of the older variety- after having proved herself in films time and again as a numero uno actress; Sridevi wants to have a peek behind the lens. Yes siree, Sridevi is a far from sleeping partner in hubby Boney’s film production house. Wanted Dead or Alive – his next venture is being largely handled by none other than the Chaalbaaz girl. She even had the final say in who the heroine of this flick would be and Ayesha Takia has someone very generous to thank. Not only that, she has a major hand in the approval of the final screenplay. Pre-production was never as sizzling and now let’s see how good the movie turns out after being taken under Sri’s wing.
Gee, so much to write and so little time! Sigh, but never matter. You see, we get to do this every single week. So here is to looking forward to another scintillating week in Bollywood and a lot more fun. Cheers!
