After Saawariya and Om Shanti Om, Aaja Nachle is the third movie that lived its early life in a hyped aura in this year. It was most awaited movie as Madhuri returned after six years of her marriage. Therefore, not only her fans but also industry was in the queue for her welcome-back release. Nevertheless, Anil Mehta, the director for this movie blamed critics for hurting the film at the box office by their negative film reviews.
Aaja Nachle, which is based on the Brazilian musical “Xuxa Requebra”, all about a divorced New York-based choreographer who returns to India to save a theatre, where she learnt her first moves. The director added “Many of us read what the critics have to say before going to the theatres and with such negative reviews coming out, it has automatically hurt the film badly,. Reviews like this create a very bad word-of-mouth and that is what has happened.”

Though the film has an average opening at box office, Anil is expecting a pickup in box office collection in the coming days. He says “I am hoping that people will go to the theatres and see the film for themselves I believe that no matter what the critics write, people will surely go and watch Madhuri’s comeback film at least once.” But completing the first week, the audience has come up with the verdict which is quite clear with a mere 50% collection in multiplexes and 30% pathetic collection figures in single screen.
