Mumbai, September 24, 2013: K.C. College one of the premier institutes of Mumbai is hosting its annual festival Kiran 2013 today. The opening ceremony was conducted with great splendor and enthusiasm at the Rama Watumull Auditorium.
Stalwarts of the film fraternity, Jackie Shroff, Luke Kenny and Alka Yagnik graced the occasion. Anil Murarka, noted corporate and social personality was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony.
Despite the torrential rains and heavy traffic Alka Yagnik made it to the occasion. She recounted her college days and got nostalgic while addressing the audience and on popular demand enthralled the audience with her performance.
“It’s a pleasure being here and my best wishes are always with Kiran and K.C. College”, said Jackie Shroff. He interacted with the students and his jovial personality had them in splits. Luke Kenny also performed on his popular number from Rock On and entertained the guests.
Students of the college paid tribute to the Uttarakhand victims through a contemporary dance performance. Principal of the college Miss.Manju Nichani declared the festival open with her inspirational words. “This year through Kiran we express our solidarity towards the victims of Uttarakhand tragedy. Festivals should not be only for celebration but also for sensitizing the youth is what I believe”, said principal, Miss Manju Nichani.
