92.7 BIG FM presents legend RD Burman’s timeless music through ‘Yaadon Mein Pancham’ ~92.7 BIG FM, Mumbai celebrates legendary RD with a month long mobile photo exhibition~

Mumbai, 4th January 2011: 92.7 BIG FM, India’s largest radio network and Golden Mikes Awards’ ‘Best Radio Broadcaster of the Year 2011’ commemorates the unforgettable music legend RD Burman with a special time band ‘Yaadon Mein Pancham. No one in Bollywood sounds like Pancham da or as they say, never will. RD Burman was known for his intuitive style of music and was often regarded way ahead of its time. ‘Yaadon Mein Pancham celebrates the magical tunes of R D Burman from Monday to Friday, 9pm to 11pm, on 92.7 BIG FM.

As the part of the on air initiative, 92.7 BIG FM will have discussions with the fans, celebrities and musicians who have worked with Pancham da or were influenced by his talent. They will also share their experiences & anecdotes about dada. Listeners will get to select songs of their choice which they will be able to hear on their favourite radio station.

Moving one step forward towards celebrating his glory, 92.7 BIG FM will have a branded Bus with interesting RD Burman memoribelia. The bus will showcase Pancham Da’s pictures, old LP’s, Cassettes, life- size posters and a music system that will play his unforgettable compositions. This Mobile Photo exhibition will bring to life legendary tales of Pancham Da and previously unknown nuggets from his life. RJs will keep listeners informed on the bus’ current locations and next-day schedule to enable maximum people to enjoy the experience. A touch screen will be installed in the bus where listeners can come and select his songs which will be played on-air. Starting 5th January, the bus will go around the city covering every possible zone associated with RD Burman like his residence, his studio, his favorite spot at Juhu Beach, Marine Drive, his favourite restaurants etc. Adding on to this, 92.7 BIG FM tied up with RD Burman Orchestra Events and together will be presenting live shows across the city.

This month long activity will start with a grand singing evening hosted by RJ Nitin at Infinity mall on 4th January, 6 pm onwards, where the fans will get a chance to sing R D Burman’s songs and the finale will witness a spectacular performance by versatile singer Neeraj Shridhar.

To spread the parallel experience for our online generation 92.7 BIG FM will be creating an RD Burman community which will be linked to the station’s National FB Page. 92. 7 BIG FM has also tied up with RD Burman fan clubs on Yahoo! Groups and songs downloading websites to enable greater visibility.
