On 22nd Jan 2013, Bollywood actress Preity Zinta appeared at the Girgaon Court in Mumbai to record her statement in a case filed against her by Bollywood filmmaker Abbas Tyrewala. The case was related to a dispute over the script of a movie titled “Ishkq in Paris,” which was produced by Preity Zinta and co-written by Tyrewala.
Tyrewala had claimed that he was promised co-ownership of the script and a credit as the co-writer of the film, but Zinta allegedly failed to fulfill her promise. As a result, Tyrewala filed a case against her and her production company.
During her appearance in court, Preity Zinta denied all the allegations made against her and her company. She stated that the script was entirely her own creation and that she had paid Tyrewala the agreed amount for his services as a script consultant. She also claimed that the case was filed against her as an act of revenge by Tyrewala, who was unhappy with the final version of the film.
The court directed both parties to submit their written statements and evidence in support of their claims. The case continued for several months, and in 2014, the court ruled in favor of Preity Zinta, stating that Tyrewala’s claims were baseless and that he was not entitled to any ownership or credit for the film.
