Kolkata, 5th April, 2009: The first edition of Kolkata’s very own fashion week – Kolkata Fashion Week (KFW) comes to an end with John Abraham breathing fire in the ramp in a unique Rohit Bal creation.

The final day also witnessed Bollywood Divas Mughdha Godse, Chitrangada Singh and Zeenat Aman sashaying the ramp in spectacular creations of Gauri Nainika, Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna and the Weavers. Designers Dev R Nil also showcased their creations.

The for day fashion fiesta witnessed participation from over 10,000 fashion enthusiasts of the city. Rituparno Ghosh, Raima Sen, Riya Sen, Minisha Lamba, Neha Dhupia, Dino Morea, Mahie Gill, Anusha Dandekar, Ranvijay Singh Singha, Sagarika Ghatge, June Malya, Shreya Pande, Monami Ghosh, Sonal Chauhan and Bipasha Basu, were the showstoppers at KFW.

The Kolkata Fashion Week, with its theme Return To Roots witnessed participation of the foremost fashion designers of the fashion world like Bibi Russell, Rohit Bal, Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, Shane-Falguni, Mona Pali, Abhishek Dutta, Marg, Sharbari Dutta, Zubair Kirmani, Anjana Bhargav, Manoviraj Khosla and Narendra Kumar. KFW also gave a platform to three of city’s promising designers Arjun Agarwal, Sanchita Julkha and Kavita Banerjee to showcase their designs at the event.

Leading models of the country such as Noyonika Chatterjee, Candice Pinto, Laxmi Rana, Neha Kapur, Sapna Kumar, Bhavna Seth, Sonalika Sahay, Joey Mathews, Michelle Innds, Anusha, Aryan Baruah, Shayan Munshi, Pooja Gupta, Shrestha, Joy, Sanyukta, Ananda & Neeraj amongst others were the other popular participants at Kolkata Fashion Week.
