Sonam Kapoor looked stylish donning her red lipstick at Anamika Khanna’s collection showcase When Time Stood Still at the FDCI India Couture Week (ICW) 2016. Sonam Kapoor wore a champagne hued floral embroidered half saree with a loose blouse.

When Time Stood Still show saw many popular faces from the film and fashion industry like Pernia Qureshi, Varun Bahl, Manav Gangwani and Manish Malhotra gracing the front row for the designers mesmerizing collection on the third day of the fashion gala.
The show at the grand ballroom of The Leela Palace yesterday stood silent for some time when models started walking on the runway in impressive ensembles. The runway was decked up with trees and real live models. Anamika Khanna’s idea was to keep real live models as décor to illustrate people at a party and time just stood still.
The showcase played popular songs by legendary singers Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Some of the songs like Cant Help Falling In Love With You, Everybody Hurts, Something Stupid and It’s Now or Never. Anamika wanted to bring romance back and the guests were wanting more!
The ensembles at the collection showcase When Time Stood Still were like embellished lehengas having 3D flowers stitched to it, palazzos, sequined jackets, long trailed anarkali’s to pant sarees. All these were paired with statement jewellery pieces consisting of precious stones like diamonds, emeralds, and rubies with a gold base.
The collection saw a wide use of heavy embellishments, sequined work, hand weaves and intricate work of gold embroidery on the silhouettes.
Anamika Khanna’s collection used fabrics like organza and georgette with a myriad of hues such as white, fiery red, beige, celadon green, gold, salmon pink, yellow and black.
The show, When Time Stood Still, also unveiled the collaboration between heritage jewellery house Amrapali Jaipur and the designer. Tarang Arora from Amrapali loves what Anamika does, and he didn’t think that there is anyone better than to collaborate with Anamika.
