Zarine and Sarah walks for Shane and Faguni Peacock at India Bridal Week

FALGUNI AND SHANE PEACOCK PRESENTED THEIR SENSATIONAL “PEACOCK BRIDE IN PARIS” COLLECTION AT AAMBY VALLEY INDIA BRIDAL FASHION WEEK 2012. September 16th, 2012, Mumbai: From the stars of Bollywood, to the divas of Hollywood, they all rush to Falguni and Shane Peacock when they desire a unique style of dressing and show-stopping ensembles.

Combining the beauty of the past with the contemporary look and moving into fast forward fashion, the Falguni and Shane Peacock collection called “The Peacock Bride in Paris” at Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2012 was a line of ultra-sophisticated glamorous bridal creations.

Presenting a mélange of Parisian styles with the traditional touches of India; the pair offered a fabulous collection of saris, lehengas, kurtas and sensuous Red Carpet gowns from their Peacock Bride label.

From dramatic drapes, to sleek silhouettes and innovative embellishments the look was pure glamour all the way. When it comes to making an impactful entry, then the bold styling, a mélange of diamonds, crystals and feathers, along with colours like red, green, pistachio, nude, gold and ivory created magic on the ramp from the duo.

The fabrics were a collection of exquisite net, chiffon, georgette, satin, rich velvet, delicate lace and gold sheeting that gave a perfect touch to the western silhouettes with fabulous embroidery. Luxurious evening and bridal gowns, full ghagras, anarkalis, farshi pajamas and graceful kalidaar saris were shown with sexy halters, bustiers and tiny shrugs.

Floral motifs came alive on bordered peach saris, while corsets had tantalizing tassels. Pink bustiers glittered under the ramp light with crystal belts and glamorous tiered frilled net gowns glided down majestically.

Opening the show with a red/silver mermaid tail slinky net gown, the Parisian touch was also evident in the sari with red creeper appliqué border and halter lace edged blouse. Soon lace, net, silk, satin and velvet played a melodious symphony for the tiered gypsy style lehengas, the A line towering lace and roses paneled kurta, the body hugging will-power crystal nude gown with feathered panels and the ivory asymmetric hem lace/net kalidaar kurta having a crystal yoke and bodice.

Gowns swished down the runway with a profusion of feathers on the trails, Swarovski crystals and diamonds dazzled brilliantly under the spotlights. A pale pink sheath with 3D rosettes in resham and crystals was breathtaking; while detailing like giant appliqués on shoulders and lehengas gave a gorgeous touch to the creations that the husband and wife are renowned for.

Baubles dangled on pallav edges along with feathers to give that vintage French touch to the creations. Rouching, ruffles, patchwork, pleating and moulding of the garments gave the collection a wonderful feminine and ultra glam feel.

For the finale it was a double entry of Bollywood divas – Sara Jane Dias in an ivory net gown with tantalizing embroidery and shoulder detailing; while Zarine Khan was the perfect ethnic bride in a stunning Rani pink silk lehenga encrusted with crystals/resham, teamed with matching seductive choli and luxurious net dupatta.

The very scintillating jewellery worn by the models was from the Dhanraj Dhadda Group renowned for their glittering designs in bridal jewellery.

Opulence was the buzz word for “The Peacock Bride in Paris” creations, which Falguni and Shane Peacock presented with great love, drama and stylish elegance.
