Haseena Jethmalani and Leetu Shivdasani are delighted to announce their collaboration with “Patine” by Shon Randhawa through a permanent collection of PATINE, famous for bringing to life the wonderful colours and intricacies of Indian heritage embroideries, now housed at S’ Fashion Studio, Mumbai.

The collaboration between PATINE, Leetu Shivdasani & Haseena Jethmalani was driven by a passion to revive the traditional craft of “Parsi Gara”, ‘Chikankari’ and “Zardozi” gold embellished embroideries and present them in a contemporary spirit.
To further its quest to create unique & distinctive creations PATINE has transformed and re-worked traditional embroidery techniques with innovations in stitch and thread, on modern materials and colour palettes, giving them a contemporary feel while retaining their classical look. Exquisite embroidered accents and finishes, fine fabrics; colorful silk linings along with ethnic detailing are all signatures of the brand.

Haseena and Leetu hosted an elegant yet easy brunch afternoon at their store S’ Fashion Studio to present the permanent outpost of “Patine” in Mumbai, on Tuesday 18th October 2011. Also present was Shon Randhawa, the creator of the had embroidered marvels of “Patine”.

The afternoon saw some of Mumbai’s high society ladies browzing through and shopping from amongst a breathtaking collection of sares, kurtas and kimonos, while coconute water and lemonade kept everyone cool. A light brunch comprising dainty sandwiches, salads, asparagus mousse, petit fours and chocolates added to the charm of the afternoon affair.

Seen at this do were Nandita Mahtani, Laila Lamba, Debbie Hitkari,Anupi Oberoi, Devaunshi Mehta, Esther Daswani, Rohina Anand, Mallika Advani, Renu Chainani, Penny Patel etc. Haseena and Leetu with Shon Randhawa played the most gracious hosts, showing guests the new “Patine” line and also ensuring everyone had eaten a bite or two.

There will be a permanent collection of “Patine” at S’ THE!FASHION!SALON with new styles coming into the store every few weeks. Both, Leetu and Haseena, and their team at S’, will be available by appointment to take personal orders and render the PATINE bespoke line.

PATINE HERITAGE COLLECTION
The PATINE heritage collection is deeply inspired by the rich culture of India’s artistry. Keen to showcase the traditional handcraft techniques on an international stage, we have selected the most talented embroiderers to work on the heritagecollection.
The expert knowledge and techniques of the fine artisans create versatile yet timeless garments. The collection integrates the heritage embroideries and makes them relevant to the modern woman’s lifestyle.
PATINE heritage 2011 collection’s colorful embroideries and patterns are inspired by The Costumes of the Royal Courts of India and 18th century miniatures from the Royal Courts of Jodhpur. Signatures of the collection are fine silks and velvets, exquisite embroidered accents and finishes, colorful silk linings, and beautiful ethnic detailing.
In the last four years PATINE has had resounding success with its annual and biannual international trunk shows in London, New York, Palm Beach, Kuwait, Karachi, Hong Kong, and Bombay. PATINE is also stocked at Sun Motoyama in Ginza, Japan for the last four seasons, from Autumn until Winter 2009.
PATINE
PATINE was founded in January 2007 by international fashion entrepreneur Shon Randhawa, along with her mother and partner, Chand Balbir Singh. Geeti Mehra joined them in early 2008 as they were brought together by their shared passion for traditional embroidery craft and the desire to wear sophisticated and timeless garments.
PATINE is a ready-to-wear collection utilizing artisanal Indian embroidery techniques with a contemporary approach. The collection is designed for women who appreciate finely detailed garments that are both unique and luxurious.
Shon Randhawa infuses her personal style and spirit into the garments which can be worn from day into evening – creating a stylish, sophisticated look. The combination of eclectic and ethnic results in classic elements with modern sensibilities.
The PATINE collection has a distinct look for the style-conscious, discerning woman who are aware of the trends but do not rely on them.
To further its quest to create unique and distinctive creations, PATINE is reviving the old heritage crafts of Parsi Ghara, Chikankari and various artisanal embroidery regions of India. PATINE has transformed the traditional embroidery techniques on different luxurious textiles and new color palettes, providing a contemporary feel while retaining a classical look.
PATINE is a testament of timeless style and femininity. Each piece of the collection is hand woven, printed, and intricately embroidered in a variety of elegant materials. Our fine textiles range from crepe-de-chine, chiffon, and silk georgette.
