Save The Children India hosted Araaish Trousseau – a fund raising exhibition – at The Four Seasons, Mumbai For Immediate Release: 3rd September 2013: Celebrating 25 years of Save The Children India, Araaish Trousseau, a one stop dream destination for every bride and groom-to-be, was the 25th edition of the popular Araaish exhibition, held at The Four Seasons, Mumbai.
Hosted by Mana Shetty, Isha Mehra and Sharmilla Khanna & Shaan Khanna, the exhibition was well attended by friends who come to support the cause and the ladies year after year.Suniel Shetty was also seen at the event, supporting his wife Mana Shetty, and Save The Children India.
Spotted at the event were Kajol, Sridevi, Queenie Singh, Suniel Shetty, Smita and Sharmila Thackrey, Shaheen Abbas, Madhoo Shah, Arti Surendranath, Kahkashan Patel, Pinky Reddy, Masaba Gupta, Sophie Choudry, Renu Mehra, Malini Agarwalla with daughter Rishika, Tanaaz Doshi, Nandini Sen and Rukhsana Eisa amongst others.
The showcasing designers who were also present at the event were Mandira Bedi, Maheep Kapoor and Shehla Khan. Mandira Bedi also launched her bespoke label, a beautiful collection of Sarees, at Araaish Trousseau.
The first Araaish Bridal Directory, which will be a coveted magazine for all labels in the wedding space, was launched at Araaish Trousseau.
Building on the Araaish legacy of blending philanthropy with glamour and excellence, Araaish Trousseau celebrated the big fat Indian wedding, complete with floral wedding décor, band baaja and dhol walas.
Apart from clothes, jewelry, accessories, etc, the Save The Children India stall retailed handcrafted, high-quality products made by adolescent girls and young women, who are part of its Women’s Institute for Social Education initiative. On sale were popular products like cushions and cushion covers, tissue-box covers, runners, potlis, batwas and other wedding favours.
The funds raised by the sale of these products will be allotted to STCI’s Special Care CentreSchool for hearing-impaired and differently-abled children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The Special Care Centre ensures nutritious meals, school uniforms, an easy commute and extra-curricular activities, in order to give a child a healthy, holistic education.
“Araaish was started as a tribute to my late mother, Mrs Vipula Kadri, and Araaish Trousseau will mark our 25th show. It is the perfect blend of the worlds of glamour and philanthropy, and will go a long way in enriching the lives of women and children who are less fortunate,” says Mana Shetty.
