Mumbai, 22nd Janl,tary 2009: The Gitanjali Luxury and Lifestyle Fest entered it final glorious days of fashion, luxury and style.
Fashion Bonanza
A dazzling line up of collection by designers like Rocky Sand Vikram Phadnis known for their sense of drama, flamboyance and panache and whose names are synonymous with style and luxury dazzled the audience at the fashion line up.
The Rocky S SS ’09 collection was edgy, seductive and all-out Fun. Drawing inspiration from a variety of elements, it was an eclectic mix of colour, texture and style. Springy fabrics like linens, soft voiles and cotton blends were ornamented with shimmer and shine by way of colourful sequin embroidery.
A blend of texture was created by delicate lace patchwork, applique and intricate cut work while the colours were dusty palette of pastels…from sand beige to pale pink, hues of grey and pale yellow-green.
The silhouettes were soft and relaxed yet impish, with a play on proportions… comprising of chic dresses and sexy shorts, stylish tops and ubershort skirts…it was all about bringing back the excitement and adventure.
A paradox of sassy style, carefree attitude and coy femininity…it’s a tribute to a woman’s inner beauty.. .and more!!!
The Gitanjali Luxury Style Fest came to a grand finale in style with a evening Of sheer nostalgia when Vikram Phadnis showcased his bridal collection after fifteen years. The bridal collection touches the middle ages and brings back the old Mughal influences. The collection celebrates the vivacious and buoyant spirits of artistic motifs on gentle fluid drapes in all vivid colours.
Ornate luxurious lehengas kurtas, dupattas, saris, elaborate sherwanis and Achkans embellished with intricate zardosi, gota and bagh embroidery, velvet cutwork makes each piece exquisite in its contemporary style.
