Aftab, Manoj at Troy Costa’s Show on LIFW Day 3

Travel and fashion are important for the jet setter who zooms around the world, so Troy Costa’s collection had an interesting theme “Una Dea Du Habana or One Day in Havana”.

From the beats of the opening pulsating salsa dance by ace TV choreographers, Nicole and Deepak of Jhalak Dikhla Jai fame; the audience was treated to a feast of lively colourful western men’s wear that had the vibrancy of the theme but at the same time was very practical and ideal for those months when the mercury soars.

An interesting detail which could set a trend for men’s wear was pushed back shoulder pads which gave a sleek look, to the sharply cut lean one or two button suits. Denim, linen, velvet, cotton, jacquard and silk, in medium to dark tones of beige, blue, brown, grey and ivory made stylish fashion statements.

Crushed cotton shirts with top stitch, distressed denim jeans, funky checked trousers, bright rust shirt, blue checked Bermudas, blousons with patched bellow flap pockets and flat front skinny trousers gave a marked retro feel of the Cuban era as the mustachioed models strutted down the ramp. Ombre tones appeared for denim and batik jackets all with skinny lapels.

Jaunty caps, spacious shoulder bags and trendy footwear added the right Caribbean touches to the garments. The final line up of jackets in diverse fabrics for evening wear was a sleek and trendy offering.

Troy’s show stoppers, were hot Bollywood favourites, Aftab Shivdasani and Manoj Bajpai, from the forth coming movie Acid Factory. Aftab confidently ramped down in a gleaming jacket and Manoj strolled in a pinstriped navy suit.

Troy Costa’s exciting and vibrant Cuban look for the decision making high flyer will surely be a hot seller and definitely push the wearer up the corporate ladder of success.
