Smita Gondkar at The Awakening music launch

Smita Gondkar, Jagjit Singh and others were at The Awakening music launch in JW Mariott on April 11th 2008. THE AWAKENING comes with a mix of dialogues English and Sindhi language. The film is about a NRI girl Sindhu Gidwani, played by US-returned actress Smita Gondkar, who is brought up on US and soon finds herself aspiring to know more about her Sindhi roots. Apart from Smita, the film stars Vishal, Farida Dadi, Pankaj Berry, Gargi Patel and Jethmalani and is directed by Dharambir Kumar.

The film has songs in Sindhi which are written and composed by producer Kosi Lalwani who is himself a Sindhi singer. THE AWAKENING is releasing at select theaters in India coming weekend i.e. 18th April.
