Yash Chopra was awarded the PowerBrands Hall of Fame Father of Indian Cinema Award; he sent a specially recorded message since he could not attend the event due to prior commitments. Mr. GG Valrani , Chairman – Oman Construction Materials received the award on Yashji’s behalf. Lillete Dubey was awarded for her Exemplary Contribution to Indian Cinema & Theatre. Ace Designer Manish Malhotra received the Styling New India Award.

Dubai witnessed the mesmerizing launch of PowerBrands Rising Stars 2012-13 – the Book, Brand appreciation awards, PowerBrands Leadership awards, PowerBrands Hall of Fame ceremony and the announcement of PowerBrands – Middle East in the presence of renowned dignitaries, business tycoons, leaders & celebrities from India and the UAE!
The PowerBrands Signature Series event, was supported by His Highness Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAE. On his behalf Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State graced the evening as the Chief Guest. Special guests included His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz Al Shehhi, Under Secretary – UAE Ministry of Economy, His Excellency M.K.Lokesh – the Indian Ambassador to UAE and His Excellency Sanjay Verma – The Consul General of India to Dubai.
The evening began with a special message from His Highness Sheikh Nahayan bin Mubarak Al Nahayan – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAE. Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy delivered the message on his behalf. This was followed by a welcome speech by Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri, Editor-in-Chief Planman Media and Honorary Director IIPM Think Tank. His Excellency M.K.Lokesh and His Excellency Sanjay Verma too graced the occasion with their inspiring speeches.
