“The Trial” is an upcoming 2023 Indian legal and political drama streaming television series on Disney+ Hotstar. It is an adaptation of Robert King and Michelle King’s “The Good Wife”. The series is directed by Suparn Verma and features Kajol in the lead role.
The story revolves around a housewife who, after 13 years, returns to work at a law firm to support her family when her husband gets imprisoned.
The series was announced in July 2022 and the principal photography began a month later, in August. The show is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on 14 July 2023.

Kajol highlights two intense scenes from the show that she loves. One is a silent moment where Noyonika reassures her daughter that everything will be okay. The other is when Noyonika confronts Vishal’s character, expressing her frustration about others making decisions for her and her desire to take control of her life.
“The Trial – Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha” is a compelling courtroom drama that follows Noyonika as she navigates the challenges life throws at her. The series also features Sheeba Chaddha, Jisshu Sengupta, Alyy Khan, Kubbra Sait, and Gaurav Pandey in significant roles. The show, produced by Banijay Asia and directed by Suparn S Varma, will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from July 14.
