In a surprising turn of events, popular television actress Akanksha Puri was eliminated from the reality show Bigg Boss OTT 2 during its second week. The decision was announced by host Salman Khan during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode.
Alongside Puri, the other nominees for elimination were Jiya Shankar and Abhishek Malhan, but ultimately, it was Puri who had to leave the house.
The elimination process was marked by a unique twist where the three nominated contestants were asked to decide amongst themselves who should leave the show. As the contestants struggled to reach a decision, a timer was initiated and with each passing moment, certain amenities were taken away from the housemates.
This included the loss of eggs, the locking of the bathroom, and the loss of access to the gym area. Despite these consequences, the contestants could not reach a decision, and Salman Khan had to stop the timer.
Following the elimination, Akanksha Puri made some interesting remarks about her fellow contestants in her post-eviction interviews.
She was notably critical of Jad Hadid, who she called “spineless”. This came after an incident where Puri and Hadid shared a kiss as part of a task given by Avinash Sachdev.
The task was met with mixed reactions from the public and other contestants, such as VJ Andy, who tweeted his thoughts on the incident.
On the other hand, Akanksha spoke highly of fellow contestant Abhishek Malhan, also known as Fukra Insaan. She referred to him as a “mastermind” and voiced her support for him as a potential winner of the show.
Puri also predicted that Pooja Bhatt would emerge as a finalist.
Puri’s elimination was met with disappointment from many viewers, who had anticipated her to remain in the show for a longer duration.
The remaining contestants in the house include Abhishek Malhan, Pooja Bhatt, Cyrus Broacha, Manisha Rani, Jad Hadid, Bebika Dhurve, Avinash Sachdeva, and Jiya Shankar.
