Shadow

Published on

Shadow narrates the tale of a serial killer Arjun Sherawat (Naseer Khan) who is bumping of his targets with effortless ease. He has become a media sensation and the police, obviously hate him and are hot on his trail headed by special officer Sanjana (Sonali Kulkarni). Journalists Rahul (Milind Soman) and Sheetal (Hrishitaa) to are following Sherawat’s histrionics.

Information comes in that Sherawat is finally dead but then comes yet another open challenge from him about his next target. This leaves everyone puzzled about him and his real identity. What happens next and what is the mystery behind Sherawat’s murder spree forms the rest of the plot.

Promos of Shadow have been bombarding across all channels for weeks now in a vain attempt to generate curiosity. Well since I saw this film with just four more people in the cinema hall, it means no one was lured by them. The USP being told that the male lead is a real blind guy who has managed to perform his own stunts and behave as if he is not blind on reel. Well, not a bad thing to do since the film has not got any major stars.

The film has turned out a superior product technically than rest of the films that are made under this category but what about the content? This film deserves an award for taking the maximum cinematic liberty. Agreed sometimes a Hindi film viewer has to suspend his beliefs but here you are expected to believe simply anything!

Now the big hoopla about blind actor Naseer Khan..well he can’t act at all but being fair, he performs his stunts and dances convincingly well. Sonali Kulkarni badly needs to hit the gym for weight loss soon! Milind Soman does well and so does Sachin Khedekar. Hrishitaa Bhatt and Samir Aftab are left ignored.

Why was the film made you wonder as you come out of the cinema hall? May be Naseer Khan wanted to fulfill his childhood dream to play a hero in big screen. Well salute to his efforts but his dream has been converted into a nightmare by his scriptwriters and director.
