Varun Tej, a prominent figure in Telugu cinema, is all set to create ripples with his latest film, the title of which was recently unveiled. Directed by Karuna Kumar, who previously made waves with ‘Palasa’, the film has been christened ‘Matka’.
The unveiling event took place in Hyderabad, Telangana, and was attended by the film’s star-studded team. In addition to Varun Tej in the lead role, the film features the illustrious Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chowdary. The ceremonial ‘mahurat’ shot, marking the commencement of the film, was conducted with the entire team present on Thursday.
Varun took to Instagram to share the film’s poster and reveal the title to his fans. Captioning the post, “My next! Need all your love,” he invited his followers to join him on the upcoming cinematic journey.
‘Matka’ is set against the intriguing backdrop of 1960s Vizag, promising an immersive narrative that is sure to captivate the audience.
In addition to ‘Matka’, Varun Tej is also gearing up for his role in the action thriller, ‘Gandeevadhari Arjuna’. He recently treated fans to a glimpse of the film by sharing its teaser. The riveting teaser opens with a suspense-filled scene, with a mysterious entity searching for “File 13”, before introducing Varun Tej as Arjuna. The storyline follows Varun Tej’s character, an agent on a pivotal mission to protect Nassar, who finds himself in the crosshairs during a UN Summit focused on climate change.
The teaser leaves audiences with many questions, including why Sakshi Vaidya’s character chooses not to work with Varun Tej, thereby heightening the suspense. Varun shared the teaser with a caption reading, “Here is the teaser of #GandeevadhariArjuna. Hope you like it!”
Prior to releasing the full teaser, Varun Tej had shared a pre-teaser of ‘Gandeevadhari Arjuna’, giving a brief glimpse into the film’s intense action sequences. He captioned the pre-teaser post as, “Here is the pre-teaser of #GandeevadhariArjuna. I bet the teaser will have you in overdrive. Coming soon.”
Directed by Praveen Sattaru, the film, starring Varun Tej in a leading role, is scheduled for release in theaters on August 25.
