The Bold and the Beautiful – 2023-May-17 Recap – At Forrester Creations, R.J. approaches his grandfather, Eric, with a sketch and expresses his concern for his mother, Brooke. R.J. wonders if Brooke is truly happy embracing the single life after her separation from Ridge. Eric suggests that R.J. should talk to Brooke directly to find out how she’s truly feeling.
Steffy joins R.J. and teases him about his recent night out. R.J. shares his conversation with Eric, expressing his worries about Brooke’s well-being. Steffy reassures R.J. that he has every right to be protective of his mother and acknowledges the challenges Brooke has faced. R.J. reflects on the changes in Thomas but believes they don’t erase the impact of Thomas’ past actions on Brooke’s life.
Meanwhile, at Il Giardino, Brooke meets with Taylor and enjoys their time together. They discuss Brooke’s recent romantic encounter with Hollis, acknowledging that while it was enjoyable, Brooke ultimately desires a connection with someone she knows, trusts, and has history with. Deacon joins their table, and the three of them reflect on their past relationships and their shared pride in their daughter, Hope.
As Brooke receives a message to return to Forrester, Deacon and Taylor have a brief conversation. Taylor observes the bond between Deacon and Brooke, suggesting that the timing might be right for Deacon to pursue a life with Brooke now that Ridge is out of the picture. Deacon considers the possibility and smiles at the thought.
Back at the cliff house, Finn reveals to Steffy that Sheila has been contacting him through letters and emails, requesting to see him as her doctor, not as her son. Finn expresses his frustration and determination to visit Sheila at the prison and make it clear that she has no place in their lives.
At the prison, Sheila receives a surprise visitor—Mike. Sheila had hoped to see Finn or his father, Jack, but instead, she finds herself face to face with Mike once again. Mike offers her support, but Sheila remains resolute in her belief that she doesn’t belong there and is determined to reunite with her son and grandson.
After a long wait, Sheila is informed that she has another visitor. To her delight, Finn enters the visitation room. Sheila expresses her gratitude for Finn’s role in saving her life and believes it signifies a spiritual connection between them. Finn acknowledges his responsibility as a doctor but acknowledges that he wouldn’t let anyone die. Sheila thanks Finn for being there for her and saving her life.
