R.J. inquires if Steffy wants Brooke and Ridge back together. Steffy clarifies that she isn’t attempting to play matchmaker. R.J. expresses his concern for Brooke’s happiness and questions if the door is truly closed on a future with Ridge.
Later, Brooke arrives, delighted to see R.J. They discuss R.J.’s conversation with Steffy and his concern for Brooke’s well-being. Steffy assures R.J. that she isn’t trying to set up a reunion between Brooke and Ridge. R.J. wants to ensure that his mother is genuinely happy. Brooke affirms her happiness and states that she made a pact with Taylor, but R.J. wants to know if she regrets it. Brooke explains that she doesn’t regret the pact and is content with her current situation. R.J. questions if Brooke still sees Ridge as her soulmate, and she confirms that she does but emphasizes that they have made a commitment to move on. Brooke trusts Taylor completely and believes that they both want to have faith in themselves and each other.
At the prison, Finn confronts Sheila about her continued attempts to contact him. Sheila insists that Finn still loves her deep down and saved her life. Finn maintains that he treated her like any other patient and reminds her that she is his birth mother. Sheila expresses her desire for a chance to prove that she can have a positive impact on Finn’s life. However, Finn firmly rejects her claims and states that there is no future for them. He leaves, determined to keep Sheila out of his life.
Back in her cell, Sheila remains confident that she will be free again and reunite with her son and his family.
In the design office, Finn meets Steffy and shares his encounter with Sheila. Finn expresses his desire to forget Sheila completely and move forward with their lives, leaving the unsettling encounter behind them.
