January 12, 2011 : Veteran Hindi actor Kabir Bedi, who is well known as the international icon will make his debut in Tamil film industry through the movie Aravaan. The film is directed by Vasantha Balan and is produced by T. Siva of Amma Creations. Touted to be a period film, the movie features Aadhi of Eeram and Mirugam fame in lead role while actress Dhansika of Peranmai fame and Malayalam actress Archana will share the screen space with him. Pasupathy, who had earlier won accolades for his best performance in Vasanth Balan’s Veyil, has joined hands with the filmmaker again.
According to the sources, Vasantha Balan was looking out for a proficient actor to perform an important character in this movie and felt that Kabir Bedi would be the right actor. The versatile actor was very much impressed with the narration of script and his characterization. Apparently, the actor had no second option and signed this film.
Kabir Bedi shot to greater fame with his mind-boggling performance as Emperor Shah Jahan in the film Taj Mahal. He has been a part of several international movies and made guest appearance in Akshay Kumar–Sanjay Dutt starrer Blue that was an action-adventure movie.
Aravaan marks the debut of playback singer Karthik as a music director.
