Balamuralikrishna, at the music launch function of Pasanga, Kamal Hassan encouraged the filmmakers to make more films based on children issues like Pasanga. He also asked the producers and media to be more forthcoming in producing and promoting children’s films that depict issues facing them.

Rahman as Slumdog Millionaire is not an Indian film. He further added that Director Danny Boyle shot the film in the slums of Mumbai; if people find such a portrayal offensive, then they must come forward and take efforts to change our country for the better, rather than just being armchair critics.
