Gone are those days where ‘Filmmaking’ was a difficult task to accomplish. Moreover, the yesteryear filmmakers had to make their debut after many years of assisting their mentors. But things have turned to be in contrast as contemporary auteur has redefined it. Now, we witness young filmmakers making their debut without assisting any directors.

It’s more illustrious with G. Arun making his foray into tinsel town now. A chemical engineer by profession, Arun makes his debut directorial with ‘Ethirmarai’ produced by himself under the banner name of ‘Escope International’. Much prior to commencing this flick, the young filmmaker underwent short-term course in filmmaking at the USA.

‘Ethirmarai’ means ‘contradiction’ in English that deals with opposition between two conflicting ideas of characters involved. This psychological thriller centers on a connection between a CBI’s private life and a serial murder case he is dealing with.

This is the firstever Indian film to be shot extensively using ‘Red One Camera’ and ‘Phantom camera’. Well, Dinesh Kumar holds the credit of being the first Indian cinematographer to can the shots with ‘Phantom’ camera. This camera carries the best resolution of ‘2K Digital Format’ that will render a spectacular output on screens. ‘Ethirmarai’ will be shot completely in and around locations of Chennai.
