Rohit Mittal showcased Love for Antique Jewels in his Collection

Rohit Mittal showcased his love for antique jewels in his collection at the Dubai Fashion Week. The show started with a line in off-white followed by soft pastels and finally bright colours like red, blue and a cocktail wear line in black was seen on the ramp. Fine thread embroidery, a contemporary version of ‘chikan’ work was seen on the off-white ensembles. Skin colour lining on white gave them a striking look.

The Indian designer took embellishment to another level and used crystals, jewel stones and pearls on saris, tunics and the lehengas. The inspiration came from 16th and 19th century jewels and the quilted jackets with mughal jewel adornments showed Rohit’s mastery over craftsmanship. The cocktail wear line in black had a lot of nets, empire lines and velvets. Most of the outfits had an Indo-western look and the designer worked with georgettes, satins, brocades for this line. A collection that offered many options for the festive and wedding season.
