September 7, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Kannada movie director R Chandru, who has proved his talent even with his debut movie Tajmahal, has tied the knot with Yamuna, a poor village girl from Tumkur on September 5 on the outskirts of Bangalore.
The director hails from a poor village and started his career as a dialogue writer in serials and was not paid anything initially apart from food. Later, he got permanent and earned his first salary of Rs 2000. After struggling from 2003 to 2007, when he wrote scripts, dialogues and directed serials, Chandru got his first break to direct a movie ‘Tajmahal’. Before this, he has even worked as a bar supplier.
His first movie ‘Tajmahal’ became an instant hit and he started being recognized as Tajmahal Chandru after the name of the film. It starred jai Rao and Pooja Gandhi in the lead roles. People started recognizing him as one of the best directors of Sandalwood. The director’s second film ‘Prem Kahani’, which starred Ajay and Sheela, also did well at the box office.
R Chandru is now busy with his latest movie ‘Mylari’, which is the 99th film of actor Shivanna and the director feels very lucky to direct this film.
The reception was organized after a day of wedding and it was attended by actor Ajay, Pooja Gandhi, MS Ramesh, Mahesh Babu, Tarun and Sanjana, Kanakapura Srinivas, the producer of his movie ‘Mylari’.
