Karu Palaniappan Wants To Work In Realistic Cinema Only!

Published on

November 29, 2010 : Tamil director turned actor Karu Palaniappan says that acting is not his cup of tea! After delivering a flop in ‘Mandhira Punnagai’, the director has lost interest in trying to face the camera once again. However, Karu Palaniappan will make the rule an exception only in the case of realistic cinema. In a statement to the media, the director candidly admits that the audience did not like him much when he faced the cameras as the hero in ‘Mandhira Punnagai’ which was directed by Karu Palaniappan himself.  Therefore, the Tamil film personality will not act in his own films ever again!

Though Karu Palaniappan is presently busy working on a script for an upcoming film, he says that he will consider acting only if some other director approaches him and is sure of the fact that he can play the character well. Also, one of his major prerequisites is that the character given to him has to be believable and realistic. Though Karu Palaniappan did not make an attempt to explain what he meant by realistic to the media!

The Kollywood director is presently in the search of actors who can match the characters penned in the script at hand. Asked if he was also considering himself in one of the character’s shoes, Karu Palaniappan promptly replies that he is over with acting at least for the present. It is evident that the failure of ‘Mandhira Punnagai’ has completely disillusioned the director!
