May 27, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Director Selvaraghavan seems to be highly smitten by the period films as he is planning to start his next project on the same line.
Actor Raana of ‘Leader‘ fame is reportedly playing the lead role in both the versions of Telugu and Tamil and hunt is on for the actress.
Selvaraghavan’s previous movie Aayirathil Oruvan was also of the similar genre that was based on the missing link between generations of ‘Chola’ and ‘Pandyan’ dynasties. In spite of receiving mixed reviews, the film somehow managed to make it big in terms of box office collections.
Much prior to the film’s release, Selvaraghavan started filming an untitled project with Vikram in the lead role. Touted to be an edge-seated psychological-thriller, the first schedule was shot across Ladakh but got shelved due to unknown reasons.
Speaking about the new project, Raana said,
“Nothing has been finalized, as we are still on the process of finalizing budget, locations and script indeed. It may take some more time to come up with official confirmations.”
The film will be produced by Raana’s home banner Rama Naidu Productions, which had previously churned out blockbusters in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
