The Chalachitra Film Society, Thiruvananthapuram, has invited entries from debut filmmakers in India for the prestigious Aravindan Puraskaram, instituted in memory of renowned filmmaker G. Aravindan, a National award winning director, screenwriter, musician and cartoonist from Kerala.
Films made in Indian languages/ English and censored between January and December 2008 are eligible to participate in the competition. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, memento and citation. The puraskaram is going to be presented at a function to be held on March 15, the 18th death anniversary of Aravindan.
